In roof solar systems are becoming more and more popular with both retro and new build solar installations.
If you are thinking about getting a solar pv installation on your house but are concerned about the apperance of traditional roof mounted solar panels, the in roof solutino could be what you are looking for. By removing roof tiles and securing the system directly to the roof trusses the visual impact of the system can be less intrusive. The panels sit flush with the existing roof tiles and give an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
There are a number of options when looking at in roof systems available from a number of manufacturers. Standard PV modules can be accommodated using either the Schucho or Schletter in roof systems or solar slates and tiles can be used as pictured above. Each system has its merits and the decision really comes down to type of existing roof tiles and budget.

The project shown here features a 3kW Solar Century C21e Solar Slate installation. As the pictures illustrate, they simply replace existing roof slates or tiles and fit flush with the roof. The beauty of the in roof system is the fact they fit flush with the existing tiles and reduce the visual impact on the building. Have a look at the full case study here. |
